Event :: Sherlock Holmes Meets Shakespeare

Friends of the Conan Doyle Estate - MX Publishing are heading to Undershaw - Arthur Conan Doyle's former home on Saturday 12th of October - taking with them another sizable donation from funds raised from the various MX projects (over $50k raised now for the school over the last few years).

They are promising an excellent event that revolves around the first new Shakespeare play in four hundred years. A Scandal in Nova Alba is written by Orlando Pearson and performed by the Baker Street Players.

The great news is that fans from all over the world can take part in for free online. 

There is a small number of tickets left for online participation and will include a live video tour of Sir Arthur's former home including the study where he wrote Hound of The Baskervilles.

The Trial of Oscar Slater

Arthur Conan Doyle was known to be a man on a mission, taking on miscarriages of justice, beginning with solicitor George Edalji's unjust conviction for horse and cattle-maiming. He also took on the case of Oscar Slater. In 1912 he released The Case of Oscar Slater, a passionate plea for a full pardon which resonated among Sherlockians, but failed to sway the authorities.
