Recommended Reads #1

In any uncertain times - one thing we've always found a comfort is to reach for a good book! This is absolutely one of these times...

Moving forwards - we thought it would be helpful when we came across a good pastiche or an Arthur Conan Doyle related novel to pass on recommendations to read - and/or reviews that we've enjoyed.

First Up...A Knife in the Fog

We've currently been enjoying 'A Knife in the Fog' by Bradley Harper.

"It is an 1888 Jack the Ripper tale, in which both the then-struggling Southsea doctor & author and his Edinburgh medical school mentor Dr. Joseph Bell join forces with a remarkable young crusading-journalist woman in London, the real-life Margaret Harkness, to solve the case and remove the Ripper from the scene."

The novel's author - Bradley Harper is a doctor himself, a pathologist now retired from his U.S. Army Medical Corps career and turned writer.

A Chance Meeting

Jon Lellenberg actually bumped into Bradley Harper at the Baker Street Irregulars weekend in New York this January - which led to Dr Harper gifting Jon a copy of his novel!

Both Jon and members of the Estate have enjoyed the book very much - so we hope you do too!

You can listen to an audio clip - narrated by Matthew Lloyd Davies HERE and a good summary review from Kirkus can be read HERE.

Accolades
